De la Douceur pour Soi offers inclusive and supportive environments
where every individual, regardless of age, social or financial situation,
physical or mental condition, or experience with yoga,
can find refuge, softness, and security.
We believe that yoga is a powerful way to cultivate softness and connection, and we’re determined to make it accessible to everyone and cultivate physical and mental well-being.
Particular attention is paid to facilitating exchanges between people, thus combating social exclusion and discrimination. Each participant is welcomed with warmth, empathy and respect, so that everyone feels comfortable and supported.
We offer yoga classes, adapted to the specific needs of each individual, in associations, hospitals and shelters. In addition to classes, we hope to organize yoga days and retreats, bringing together people from different backgrounds to share moments of rejuvenation and solidarity.
Internationally, we’re working to make yoga accessible to communities in precarious situations, notably in refugee camps and isolated villages. In partnership with local associations, we offer yoga classes and train teachers on site, promoting sustainable initiatives adapted to the needs of each community.
De la Douceur pour Soi is a place of sharing and community, where everyone can find gentleness, support and inspiration. We firmly believe in the power of solidarity and the importance of creating networks where each individual can flourish and develop self-confidence.
Our aim is to make softness accessible to everyone, overcoming geographical, cultural and social barriers.
Alice Girard • President & founder
Alice has been a yoga teacher in Paris since 2019. After a career as a project manager in communications, she decided to devote herself to her passion, teaching yoga classes, retreats, training and workshops in Paris and all over the world. Driven by the desire to be of service to others and to contribute to their physical, emotional and mental well-being, she realized the need to make these spaces accessible to a public different from that of Parisian studios. In 2023, she created the association “De la douceur pour soi” & trained in therapeutic yoga. She teaches children in hospitals, displaced people in France and abroad, and in shelters.
Marie Conort • Co-founder
& general secretary
For many years, Marie has been committed to supporting displaced and disadvantaged people in various forms of collective action through associations. When she became aware of the physical and psychological benefits of yoga through her personal practice, she decided to train to teach it. During her training, she realized that above all, she wanted to weave this link between yoga and the cause she was defending. On meeting Alice and realizing that they shared the same desire to create spaces of gentleness and exchange accessible to all, she joined the project initiated by Alice to bring these ideas to life together.
